Student Spotlight
Erin H and Eve E are in the RSB spotlight. Eve and Erin cousins taking Beginning Ballet at Regional School of Ballet in Corvallis.
Erin is 9 years old and has been taking ballet for 4 years. In class she likes to do Plies, Grand Jete, Polka Step and Triplet walks. Her most memorable dance moment is performing in the Nutcracker. Erin’s favorite dancer is her teacher Shelly Svoboda.
Outside of ballet Erin likes to run, bike, rock climb, make arts and crafts, and to play outside. Her favorite school subjects are math and art. She likes to listen to Brandi Carlile, read Percy Jackson and the Battle of the Labyrinth, and watch Harry Potter and Percy Jackson movies. Erin’s best personal achievement is when she climbed to the top of Dimple Hill. The person Erin admire’s most is her brother Gavin.
Someday, Erin would like to be a teacher or a cook and to go to Mexico.
Eve is 8 years old and has been taking ballet for 3 years. In class she likes to do Grand Jete and the Triplet walks. Her most memorable dance moment is performing in the Nutcracker.
When Eve isn’t in class, she likes to play outside, go rollerblading, attend school, and eat yummy food. In school, she likes to learn about nutrition. Eve likes to listen to Louis Armstrong, read Magic Treehouse, and watch Labyrinth and Aladin. The person Eve admires most is her mom.
Eve would like to be a teacher someday and to go to Mexico, where it’s hot!
RSB would like to recognize Eve and Erin for their dancing. They are always focused and on task and work very hard to learn new steps and improve their technique.
Welcome Back Nikki!
Nicole Jolin is back teaching the Pointe 1 and Pointe 2 classes after taking a few months off to take care of her feet. We’re all happy to have her back at the studio!
New Advanced Jazz Class
We have added an Advanced Jazz class to the schedule. Kelly Volkman will be teaching the classes on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 – 8:30. Previous dance experience is required. Questions? email rsb.corvallis@gmail.com.

Upcoming Performances
Dance Gallery
The next performance hosted by Regional School of Ballet will be the Annual Dance Gallery on April 14th, 2012. This show features amateur and professional performing groups from around the Willamette Valley.
Lilac Fairy Tea Party
The Lilac Fairy and all her friends are planning a tea party in May. Come see her and her friends dance variations from Sleeping Beauty and join them for tea.
RSB Recital
The RSB recital will be June 2nd. Will your dancer be in it? Costumes will be ordered in February. Please complete the recital enrollment form and return it to the studio asap to make sure a costume is ordered on your behalf.

Summer Intensives
Are you in Advanced or Advanced Intermediate Ballet? Now is the time to start looking for a summer intensive dance program! In a summer intensive, you can learn new choreography, improve technique, make new friends in the dance world and get inspired by the artistry of other dancers. Students from RSB have gone to intensives from coast to coast in the USA and Canada.
Can’t get away? We have some great opportunities right here in Oregon. Check out the programs offered through Eugene Ballet and Oregon Ballet Theater and see if one of your dance friends will carpool with you.
