Class Descriptions

Dance Classes at Regional School of Ballet | Corvallis


Creative Movement (4-5) & Pre-Ballet (6-7) dance classes meet once a week and are designed to teach the basic principles of dancing in a nurturing and creative fashion. Classes emphasize basic ballet skills, terminology, rhythm and coordination.


Ballet training begins at 8 yrs of age or with the director’s permission. Lower level classes meet twice a week.  Advanced dancers are encouraged to take multiple dance classes a week.  Students become proficient in fundamental dance movement and ballet technique.  Dancers advance from Beginning Ballet thru Advanced Ballet upon instructor approval, ability and age.


Pointe Dancers who wish to take Pointe must have permission from the RSB director, be 11 years old and have taken ballet the last 3 consecutive years.  To ensure student safety, dancers are required to take 3 or more ballet classes a week. Dancers advance upon instructor recommendation.


Adult/Teen Ballet If you’ve always wanted to learn to dance or want to do something more enriching than going to the gym, this class is for you.  Learn ballet technique, terminology, rhythm and coordination. Class is taught to accommodate beginning and intermediate students.
